Default Menu Navigation

The navigation bar "shipped" with your site represents a solution that has been user tested and proven very intuitive for users.

However, it is completely customizable: global links and their nested pages, the order, adding or deleting navigation is all up to you.

Order for entering content

You can add pages as needed at any time. However, entering content in a specified order can save you time down the road; many pages reference other content previously entered. If you create these pages before creating the content referenced, you will need to go back and update the page later.

Preferred Order for Entering Content

  1. Create the taxonomy for research project
  2. Create the taxonomy for profiles
  3. Create the taxonomy for publish type
  4. Create all the publications
  5. Create all the people profiles
  6. Create news articles
  7. Add gallery photos
  8. Create all other pages

Events

The preferred method for populating events into your site is importing them from your department Bedework calendar. Alternatively, events can be entered directly in your site, imported directly from the public University calendar or embedded in a Columbia RSS event feed.
