Undergraduate Student
Alia is a junior at Columbia University majoring in Applied Physics. She works on the pellet ablation experiment, primarily developing Python scripts for mass analysis of cryogenic pellets using microwave cavity disruption data. Outside of the lab, she is the founder of Thoth, a nonprofit supporting women and education in rural Egypt, and is setting up the first American team for the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.
Research Focus: Alia works on the pellet ablation experiment under the mentorship of Professor Paz-Soldan, focusing on data and error analysis.
