Franco Sorza-Enriquez

Undergraduate Student

Franco Sorza-Enriquez is a third-year undergraduate student at Columbia University majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Aerospace Engineering. Under the guidance of Dr. Chris Hansen and Professor Carlos Paz-Soldan, he is contributing to the Columbia University Tokamak for Education (CUTE), where he has completed the design for the pedestal and is now beginning its construction, working alongside fellow undergraduates on the assembly of cute. Franco plans to pursue a Ph.D. in plasma physics, focusing on m experimental plasma physics and fusion devices. Outside of his work in fusion, he enjoys playing soccer, exploring the outdoors, and learning about aerospace technology and sustainability initiatives.
