Celeste Lamadrid

Undergraduate Student

Celeste is a third-year undergraduate student at Columbia University majoring in Mechanical Engineering and interested in research and development of sustainable technology. Having researched the subjects of fusion and plasma physics since high school, she is excited to contribute to advancements in fusion energy. She hopes to one day use her experience to work on large scale experiments like ITER or W7-X. Outside of the lab, she engages in playing video games, reading, and working on robots.

Research Focus: Celeste is working on the assembly and operation of the pellet ablation experiment under the guidance of Professor Paz-Soldan to validate several models of ablation rates.
